To
create something of such monolithic
proportion Vince had to scour Australia
and the world seeking out whole trees
in exotic native timbers. Mostly these
logs are saved from wood chipping or
are by products of other logging operations
which are then turned into these magnificent
vases that truly reflect the value of
the trees from which they came.
Much innovation was required to overcome
the many hurdles and technical challenges to manage
and turn trees of this size and allow the vases to have wall
thicknesses down to an amazing three millimetres. The process
for each vase can take up to hundreds of hours to complete and
the exacting technique and attention to detail shines out in the
superb craftsmanship of each unique vase.
The scale of these vases requires trees
of incredible girth, age and quality.
Each log is turned in response to its
natural shape and features, each vase
is a unique work of art drawing on the
natural beauty of the tree from which
it evolves.
Now you can inherit an inspired work
of art and share its timeless beauty
for generations to come. Timberline
can design a vase specifically for you
or you can choose from completed vases
in the following timbers; Blackwood,
Huon Pine, Sassafras, Red Gum, Ancient
Red Gum, Jarrah , Myrtle and more.
Each tree is unique and can include
highly figured grains, Burl, Birdseye
and natural holes created in the tree
over its lifetime. Timberline can match
vases to its custom furniture range
and create single or pairs of vases
that will enhance your living space
and provide an exiting and valuable
investment for years to come.
